Michael was a rookie on that same championship team as his older brother Sean, and went on to play five more years with the X-Men.

Before his final year, he was asked to play for Canada at the Fred Jones Cup in Taiwan and led the team to a gold medal.

After playing professionally in New Zealand, Germany and Sweden, he turned his attention to rugby and still plays for the Cincinnati Wolfhounds of the Division 1 Premier League in the U.S.
