Since the age of five, Erik Kowalski has been actively involved in sports. In 2004-05, he was named GVIS' cross-country MVP. In 2006-07, he was the MVP of both the school soccer team and the volleyball team, and was chosen as the Junior Athlete of the Year.
In 2007-08 at CCVS, Erik received the Male Sportsmanship Award, the badminton MVP award, as well as the volleyball MVP award and the volleyball coaches' award for Most Dedicated Player.
In 2008-09, he capped off his impressive high school athletic career by being chosen CCVS' volleyball MVP, soccer MVP, and by receiving the school's "Beyond the Stars" award and Male Athlete of the Year Award.
For a number of years now, Erik has been certified to referee hockey, soccer and volleyball. This year, he was recognized by the Cornwall Lions Club as their 2009 soccer Sportsman of the Year for his officiating dedication and excellence.
Erik has managed to accomplish all of this while maintaining a strong academic record, and he graduated from CCVS with honours in June. He's presently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa.
