For over 20 years, Brian Rombough has devoted countless hours to helping girls play his favourite sport - broomball.
He began as a referee in Long Sault when his daughters started playing organized broomball. He eventually teamed up with Jim Bancroft to form the Ingleside Devils in the Finch Midget girls league. From 1992 to 1996, the Seaway Valley Devils claimed four gold medals at the Provincials, and two Silvers and a Bronze at the National Chambpionships. In 1994 he was named First Team All-Star Coach at the Junior Broomball Nationals, and was twice named Eastern Junior Coach of the Year.
His teams also won bronze medals in 1998 & 99 at the Elite Ladies Provincials - the highest level of ladies broomball. In more recent years, his Phantoms won the Provincial Intermediate Ladies Gold in 2006. This past year Rombough's Vipers won a gold at the Eastern Ontario Regionals, and a silver at the Provincials. During this time, he continued to coach teams to regular season and playoff championships in the Finch Broomball League.
